Font Crack

Ok, I'll show you what I've been working on - it's NOT done, but my eyes are going to pop out of my head any minute now!

You know that I did that little font story thing, yes? Well, I thought a couple of shirts n' things would be cool with typeface stuff on 'em. Anyway, this is what I put up so far... my "Font Crack" apparel - ha! Oh, and the "Anatomy of Letters" (I think I like that one the best).

Now I must get to bed dudes.

fontfont

Hey Lori, to continue the font conversation from the last comments...
mizKitty font
Remember that? Awhile back (actually, it was created in 2000) someone, gone but not forgotten Jo, made my writing into a font. It's really pretty useless 'cos the punctuation sucks, as well as the kerning, but it was fun at the time.

Since we were talking about creating fonts, I just knew that I bought a cheapie disk for scanning and making fonts, but I'll be darned if I could find it. Well, after tearing up my stacks of CDs and just generally making a mess on my desk, I did find it... not that I'll do anything with it any time soon, but I'm satisfied that I found it.

Anyhoo... if you're so inclined (Ryan!), help yourself to the mizKitty font (pc only). But don't say I didn't warn ya!

I've also been drawing up a few new thingies - nope, you'll just have to wait and see - and I think I'll stop procrastinating and just get 'em done already. You know that I'll show you when I'm done, k?

plethora of goodies

You probably know this already, but iStock rocks! Whenever I'm in a pinch for client work images, I always manage to find something there. yay.

Yup, decided to do some work. Might as well. I've been doing a lot of reading this week, especially about typography. I do believe I'd like to try my hand at it... someday. maybe.

I also subscribed to a pretty good magazine as well - the pdf version. Nope, not fiction reading, although Jennie gave me a 'chicklit' book to read during my recovery... haven't really picked it up yet. There's just too, too much I want to learn (never ends, does it), and this is the perfect time.

Hey, know what else? I think tomorrow nite I may go to my first MeetUp meeting. I always say that and then back out at the last minute, but I just think it would be so neat to actually talk to other people in real life about web stuff, ya know? I don't have ANYone that I can talk to about computers (well, besides the mumster), let alone web design etc. There's one guy at work who is more into the programming side of things, and we talk, but that's about it.

Anyway... yes, things went well at the doc this morning. Said I was doing WONderfully and was surprised that I was walking upright, so that was groovy (and my new belly button is doing fine too).
:)

And that's the dealio for tonite...back to work now, k?

wounded in Milwaukee

hola! Thought I'd check in for a minute before I take my little 'spit bath' (where did that come from anyway?). It's been a week since the cutting and stretching, and I'm going for my first doc visit this morning. Everything went well - as expected.

The first time I got up in the hospital was probably the worst pain I've had out of the other tummy surgeries I've had. It was kind of as if I was thrown on a pile of burning, hot coals and was forced to jump around not knowing which direction to go. That's how my belly was, inside and out. Not for the faint of heart.

But it's been gradually downhill from there (in a good way that is). I'm practically standing upright but still sleeping on a kazillion pillows on my back to keep me at an angle.

It's all worth it in the end. I wanted this, so I don't mind, ya know?

So that's the poop. Anything else happening around here?
Ok, gotta drain now. (ooo, yummy)
;)
