As if last years kitchen & BR teardowns weren’t enough, we’re starting on the LR beginning tomorrow. yikes. A big difference though is that it’s not going to be months and months of dust, drywall and inconvenience like last time. I totally emptied the room today – know I’ll be sore tomorrow ‘cos I was carrying objects much larger than me up & down stairs.
Ever carry a big mirror by yourself? It’s one of those full body, “easel” type mirrors which was more awkward than heavy. But what was weird was seeing myself while I was taking it up the stairs. Especially the look on my face when I got stuck on the railing while I was trying to make the sharp turn around the corner!
So ya. Getting rid of the ugly, ugly paneling that I’ve disliked for the last 20 yrs and the ceiling stuff too. And just like the other redos, it’s a pain, but so worth it after it’s done.
Of course I’ll keep y’all updated.

Yuck. You guys sure are gluttons for punishment, but then….ya gotta
do stuff like this while you’re still young enough to survive the total
misery of the whole darn thing. Or as long as your bones (and your sanity) hold up.
You’re not going to forget my critical needs now, are ya? This weekend.

awesome. i love that the previous owners wrote on the wall underneath the paneling. it’s so fun that you found that. :D
