Before it was as commercialized

For the 90th HD reunion, although we specifically went out of our way to avoid the “parade” down to the party grounds, it was UNavoidable getting stuck in a solid mass of Harleys moving at about 5 mph to get down there no matter which way we went.

That was the year when we were at a stand-still and a photographer from In the Wind magazine snapped our photo. Of course that was the year I wore my CFM boots & fishnets. mm-hmm.

Now you have to be invited prior to the event, by mail, by HD, to take part in the Parade. There is a *7,000 bike limit. 7,000. The assemblage begins at 7a.m. tomorrow and the parade starts at 9:00. NO, we are not taking part, thank you very much.

Today is hubby & the boys day for hoo-hah’ing around town. I’m resting up for tomorrow. Besides, need to take Mumsy shopping so she’s not deprived of snacks this weekend.
*if you were here earlier, yes, I said 74,000. If you weren’t, nevermind.

Can I repeat myself ? see below!!

Hey you….it is 12:05 a.m. and I have no idea why I am still sitting at the peecee…..got a late start, though. Watched a movie first, VOD’ed the list and chose “The Ruins”. Was in the mood for a spooky kinda thing. Those things are mostly B-pictures, but what the heck. It was plenty bloody and gross.

I watched the hour of Ch. 6 trying to be cool, having their help stationed here and there. They just yapped and yapped while the bikes were rolling down Wisconsin Ave. Now that I live too far out I haven’t heard any bikes rumbling. *snif* They were at the parking lot. And two cameras just kind of scanning around. Glad you finally got smart in your old age and didn’t wear the new boots today…hah.

The most interesting part of the hour-long show was their talking to visitors from other countries. There were two couples from Australia, I love the way they talk! Then there was a small group from Israel. Another couple from Belgium. Italy. Ummmm, where else? Oh putz I can’t remember, but quite a few European countries were represented.

Harley Davidson is GLOBAL. Our lakefront is pretty doggone sweet, too. Something like this Harley gathering makes me kind of proud of the old hometown…

Talk atcha tomorrow. Oh no, it IS tomorrow. Well then I better go to bed, eh?

    Love ya…..
    Mum
