That’s something else I never used to do – visit Craigslist.
So, I was just looking around, and found an ad for some old Kaleidoscope newspapers. Kaleidoscope was our underground paper in the late 60s in Milwaukee, and I kinda-sorta remember them… ok, so I’m pretty familiar with them – hey, I was 15 in ’69, happy now?
Anyway, so I called the guy, he told me what he was asking, and I said, “ok, thanks.” After I came down from the clouds, I thought, “what the hell am I going to do with ’em? Just for a trip down memory lane?” I just get so caught up in that stuff sometimes, ya know? Although I did call him back and told him if he couldn’t sell them to call me back.
I don’t know whether you remember the last time I talked about something similar. Robert Crumb’s infamous “Keep on Truckin'” guy (KOT) and how when I had one on my old cutless my dad thought it stood for “Keep on F*ckin” (ya, he was a sicko). ANYway, my gal-friend in Alaska surprised me with an Or-i-gin-al KOT bumper sticker, which I still wear on my car proudly, although it has gotten a little faded.
Sooo, maybe he won’t sell them and I’ll get the newspapers and take a little trip, hmm? I’ll let you know what happens.
