I don’t know how it is in the ‘real’ world as far as the popularity of Crocs, but in the hospital, they are EVerywhere, and that’s why I refuse to buy a pair. For some reason, it just bugs me. I’m a Birki kind-o-gal, and I’m stickin’ to it. dagnabbit.
Hey – I need your advice. I bought PCMover to transfer data from this pc to the new one, right? But what’s the difference if I just download the stuff from here to an external HD, then upload it all to the new pc? Any difference? Other than probably being a lot easier? I have a boatload of downloaded programs – no disks – and I’m afraid that I’m going to screw something up and lose pieces and parts. Any suggestions?

Data, and layouts and styles? Downloaded programs and setups and stuff you bought? Dump it all to an external HDD and then plug that drive into your new box and move stuff to wherever it’s going to live.
Installed programs? Reinstall them from those copied files or from the original disks.
I’ve seen MaxBlast 3 (and up) from MaxStor do a fine job of moving an entire OS/programs/dataset to a new internal HDD, but I’m still more comfortable with a complete dump off to an external drive. That also leaves your old machine up and running until you get the new one dialed in (one of the problems with moving the old HDD physicall from machine to machine).
Good luck!

Well ! I knew DanMan would have answers for ya, Kidlet.. I have absolutely no idea what he’s talking about but that’s what makes it even more impressive to dinosaurs like me. Whew.
*sigh* Allrighty then, I guess I’ll just mosey on “home” and putz around with my FireFox. That’s about the extent of my big entry into the Big Time. lol
