I don’t know if I can write and listen to my music CD of choice (as opposed to random radio tunes) at the same time. Especially one that I haven’t heard in awhile. If I was strictly working and creating, that’s a different scenerio, which is what I was doing prior to my *epiphany* moment.

You know, when a huge swell of contentment and mellowness overcomes your entire body, and you just want to hug the world? Well, it just happened to me, and suddenly I felt like listening to some of my flashback tunes. But how can you just listen to Elton John without singing along??

So. Yes, I’m having a wonderful day so far. Finally getting my to-do list down to a more managable size. yay. That’s the downside of going on vacation—the pile of work remains, and then some.

Currently, I’m struggling with a decision on whether or not to take on a huge web project. Probably one of the biggest I’ve ever encountered in the last 8 yrs of my biz. I’m just always so afraid of making a commitment. What if I can’t do it? What if the very thought of sitting down to work on the job stresses me out and makes me want to puke? You can’t just stop in the middle of it and say “sorry, I just can’t do anymore.” Nope. No can do.

Hubby understands for the most part. But the big $$ signs distract him from the reality of whether or not I can indeed do the job. Of course, he also casually mentioned that I’d be able to finally buy this or that – things that I’ve only dreampt of buying sometime in the future. Gee, thanks darlin.

SOoooo, anyway. That’s the latest dealio over here. We shall see where the road leads me.

BTW, I had to turn Elton off to write this. Ha. What a dork.
c’yall later.

sweet relief

May 5, 2006

Hola all! Back from Vegas and refreshed and rejuvenated, for the time being anyway. Ate a lot, walked a lot, and got a lot of sun. 90 degrees and up -woowoo.

Know what else I was thinking of as I floated in the pool? I want a complete back piece tattoo. Yup. And I want Chris Garver of Miami Ink to do it (Ami’s a hottie) but Chris would be better for me, I think. Yes I know, expensive and a long wait more than likely. But I decided if I ever get another tattoo, I want it to be a piece of artwork. It’s going to last forever and I won’t settle for less. Hubby said we could drive down on the bike someday and hang out in Miami South Beach for a bit. I’m also considering adding a bit of my own artwork to the mix. So that’s the latest poop in this brain o’ mine. We shall see.

We did go to the Palms just to check out the Hart & Huntington Tattoo Shop for kicks. eh, not impressed although I did see a couple of the artists from the show mulling around. I don’t even like the show particulary, but wanted to see the shop anyway.

Luckily I didn’t have to go and save lives today, but it is my weekend there. Oh well, party’s over.

I’m pooped. Just wanted to say hey, and I’ll talk to y’all later.

painting

March 13, 2006 3 Comments

Wow, after reading a glimpse of how David Bowers (link via AnnieBanannie) begins his paintings, I am reminded of why I don’t paint. I need more immediate results… impatient I guess.

I have to tell ya, a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I am 99% caught up with current client updates. A few that were still leftover from the boatload of requests that I got around Christmas! whew, it really, really feels good. Now I can begin a couple of new sites (no hippie guy from Jersey though, he never contacted me again — bummer).

I’m sleepy. And full. Just ate a big bowl of cereal. :::yawn:::
later all.

flashback!

March 9, 2006 8 Comments

I am eating one of the most perfect red peppers that I’ve ever seen! Very heavy, a deep red and unblemished skin, with a green picture-perfect stem. It is so sweet it’s making my toes curl. yum.

All day I’ve thought of stuff and wanted to show you, but it’s so late now it pisses me off. But I didn’t post anything ‘cos I couldn’t/wouldn’t take the time… so I’ll try to be brief now so I can get my bootie to bed, k? (ya, me be brief?!)

Anyway, I was searching all over my computer for some older psd files that I could use for a new client. On a whim, I booted up my old pc tower that’s networked to this one, and low and behold, there they were. Then, being the easily distracted person that I am, I started snoopin’ around in there (the tower) and came across an older splash page for FMG, along with a little Flash thingie that I did (albeit an amateurish one). Take a lookie and click underneath the main image for the Flash – with your sound on…

Anyone remember that layout? And Joe’s old “i2k” page… ahh yes, flashback indeed.

Oh poopie, I must get to bed. Remind me to tell you about an old hippie guy from Jersey who called me today about a site for his band. Love to tell you now, but I gotta go dude!

green n’ clean

I was in the mood for a change. What I’d reeally like to do is try to recover FMG and put it all back together. ugh. Do you know how monumental that will be? (remember, it got funked up and I never was able resurrect it?)

Well, it is the weekend. I deserve me-time, yes?
ya, maybe I’ll just do that…
