H.O.G. 25th Anniversary

August 28, 2008 Leave a Comment

H.O.G. Anniversay PartyUn-freakin’ believable. The party today at the Stadium was just for H.O.G. members. This was definitely bigger than the 100th HD Anniversay. And the weather was great – yay. Of course this itty-bitty photo doesn’t really portray the massive volume of bikes that just kept pouring in. I did attempt to take a video of it… wanna see?

Just listen to the roar!

My feet are killin’ me though. I made a big mistake and wore new boots. duh. The rest of the week I’m stickin’ with the tennies!

sun – rain – sun – rain…??

I’m just sitting here trying to predict the future… keep glancing out my window, “OH, there’s the sun! oh. clouds. OH! SUN… boo. clouds” What the heck. So today is kind of iffy, but the rest of the week & weekend should be beaUtiful. For the bikes of course.

Yes, the HD party has arrived! I’m so excited. Kid Rock is tonite… the list is too long. I’m gonna go now.

Not really a scrapbooker

August 17, 2008 Leave a Comment

Jut a quick little font look-see (yup, the routine thing), and I wandered over to Fonts For Peas. Her site is a myriad of intertwined subjects, one of which is scrapbooking. You gotta see her scrapbook room. Not only is it a virtual warehouse of scrapbooking supplies, but the technique of displaying the photos on the page is pretty cool. Not to mention her organizantional skills — which even if she did so for the camera, the stuff is still organized, regardless. Dang.

So. Did anyone watch it? No, not Phelps, although that was amazing. Woodstock. I still have CSNY Wooden Ships playing in my head. Now that hubby turned that damn kitchen t.v. off, I’ll put this one on. That’s another story…

Craigslist

That’s something else I never used to do – visit Craigslist.

So, I was just looking around, and found an ad for some old Kaleidoscope newspapers. Kaleidoscope was our underground paper in the late 60s in Milwaukee, and I kinda-sorta remember them… ok, so I’m pretty familiar with them – hey, I was 15 in ’69, happy now?

Anyway, so I called the guy, he told me what he was asking, and I said, “ok, thanks.” After I came down from the clouds, I thought, “what the hell am I going to do with ’em? Just for a trip down memory lane?” I just get so caught up in that stuff sometimes, ya know? Although I did call him back and told him if he couldn’t sell them to call me back.

I don’t know whether you remember the last time I talked about something similar. Robert Crumb’s infamous “Keep on Truckin'” guy (KOT) and how when I had one on my old cutless my dad thought it stood for “Keep on F*ckin” (ya, he was a sicko). ANYway, my gal-friend in Alaska surprised me with an Or-i-gin-al KOT bumper sticker, which I still wear on my car proudly, although it has gotten a little faded.

Keep on Truckin' Dude!

Sooo, maybe he won’t sell them and I’ll get the newspapers and take a little trip, hmm? I’ll let you know what happens.

Harley Davidson 105thAnother biggie here in town that I haven’t mentioned is the big HD 105th. 2 weeks away! I took vacation time over a year ago, although now I don’t have to worry about it – ha. Going to be crazy, I love it. We’re only about 2 miles from the HD factory (which is across the street from Miller headquarters, which is another story – OH, excuse me, Miller/Coors), so the sound of pipes is constant. Cool. And did you see the lineup of bands and activities for all 4 days? Well, why would you if you’re not going to be here… but trust me, it’s wild.Brett Jet

And don’t tell me this is a happy face. This is not the Brett I’m used to seeing, and I don’t just mean the Jets Jersey. Ya, I’m sure he’s exhausted, but really…

old dog, new tricks…

June 26, 2008 2 Comments

I am so thrilled to discover something that I just had to share it with someone. I discovered the magic of working with and adjusting levels in Photoshop. Yes, levels. I know, I know… well duh to me. Seriously, I had 2 pieces of scanned artwork that I had to merge together, and the colors didn’t match up. Well I just whipped out that level adjustment, messed around for a bit, and Voila! I got them to match! I am so excited.  :)

Want to know about something else? A couple of weeks ago I bought a brand new, in the box, Krup’s Mini Espresso/Cappuccino maker I found on Craig’s list – for $10 – and it is soooo yummy. Easy to make and froth up my milk… mm-mm-good.

A-n-ddd, last but certainly not least, my LR is almost done! In fact, it would have been done had our contractor not calculated incorrectly and had one more piece of oak for the ceiling beams… so now he’ll have to finish it on Monday. poo. It looks really cool. Can’t wait to show you.

So, that’s my happy news for the week. HappyHappyHappy!

**OH, know what’s not so happy? The party is over at iStock photo. Yup, the big boys have wrecked a good thing, it was only a matter of time before Getty hiked up the prices. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
