The finger and a J.O.B.

August 19, 2008 4 Comments

Does this look like the girl is giving the finger? That’s what one of FMG’s visitors wrote to tell me, “WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A PICTURE OF SOME WOMAN GIVING THE FINGER?  PRETTY CRUDE.” Ya, in all caps too. Whatever. Coulda been a joke too… I hope it was.

Hey, guess what. *News Alert* My retired hubby has joined the working force once again. He was more-or-less personally invited, pleaded with, to come back to a job he had 40 years ago! Metal Spinning. Manually. It’s really a lost art these days, and when he was talking with one of the guys that he used to work with about the Harley thing (and who still works at the place) he got the scoop about how they needed someone. Soooo, given our present situation with the no-saving-lives-anymore-kittykitty and no health benefits, he thought, “what the hell” and climbed aboard.

Can I get a YAYmen! Hallelujah! Although I am a little sad that I’m losing my Cabana Boy. Sure has been nice these last couple of years having him do everything around here. Oh, he’ll still do his thing, just not as much. s’ok, didn’t really want to be a Barista anyway.

woowee.
think the meter-man is here… bye.

Man, why the hot flash all of a sudden? Hey, know what I just discovered? Our televisions have had the picture-in-picture capabilities forever, but because of our cable box, could never utilize it. So I’m thinkin’, hmmm, how am I going to watch what I’ve been looking forward to watching for the last 72 hrs and still see Phelps do his thing tonite? Yup, tried out the PIP and it works now! Must be the digital cable thing that makes it possible, ya think? I know, but it’s the little things in life.

I’ve also been putzin’ around FMG the last couple of nites, and as is customary when I do something new, I send out a brief little email to my peoples. Now, I’ve had a mailing list with NotifyList for-Ever. Their site itself hasn’t been updated in at least 5 yrs, but it has continued to work. Alas, I think it finally died. Never did get my own copy of the email that I sent out 2 nites ago. Bummer. As you can imagine, after having visitors sign up for the last… 7-9 yrs or so, I had quite a mailing list. But, on the bright side, I’m sure many, many, many of the email addresses are long gone, so I’ll just start over.

I’m also a teeny-tiny on the verge of redoing FMG… eh, maybe not. Lotsa work. Plus, last time I lost everything, I had to just do the main pag — nevermind! Gotta GO – it’s ON!

With a little help from my friends

August 15, 2008 Leave a Comment

Taking that little hippy-trip, looking forward to the marathon tomorrow. I know that you know what I’m talking about.
In the mood? Have a little time? One place to start, with Joe Cocker.

Hey, that Craigslist guy called – they’re mine man! woohoo!

Borderline

August 14, 2008 Leave a Comment

As long as I’m revealing a few of my compulsive behaviors, another daily OC is before I open Photoshop in the a.m., I must check MyFonts to see if there’s anything new and exciting that I need to add to my little congregation of fonts. Every day. Lately there hasn’t been a heck of a lot of newness that hasn’t been seen, at least in part, in another font. I mean, at what point does one never need another font for the rest of their lives? Besides, just about the time that something appeals to me and it actually gets as far as sitting in my shopping cart, at least I’m wise enough now to double check in the STC browser whether I either have it already or something similar, and lo and behold, there it is!

So. I guess I’m set for life. But you know I still have to check to make sure. Right?

Ok Aaron, time to get yo’ game on

August 11, 2008 Leave a Comment

I know, it’s just a preseason game, but it’ll be fun to watch anyway… flip-floppin’ between that and the Olympics I’m sure.

I was quickly scanning my old KittyKittys for a Packer one (I know that I had some), but I could just find one where she was eating a Bear (of the Chicago kind of course), and one where she was crying ‘cos Brett was leaving. But I thought that was kind of strange ‘cos I haven’t created an ani-kittykitty for quite awhile so it must of been one of the other times he said he was going to retire, hmm?

Know what else? I called the KittyKitty a she up there – the ani-kitty- but actually, I always considered her a him.

One more thing. Remember when I wrote a little note thingie to my sister as if she was going to read it? Well, her son, my nephew, who I haven’t seen in a kazillion years, was recruited by Notre Dame. Imagine that. Jennie ran into that piece of info in her travels around college football stuff. Interesting.

Ok, gotta go… I’m cooking a pot of something or other and I think it’s boiling.

coffee snob

August 9, 2008 Leave a Comment

I’m not quite sure when or how I became such a coffee snob, but now I can’t drink any coffee that isn’t freshly ground Arabica beans and must be accompanied by half ‘n’ half. Yes, Starbucks. I mention Starbucks simply because it’s the most familiar, but we also have a most excellent local roaster in town, Alterra Coffee, and as some would say, their beans don’t taste as “burnt” as Starbucks.

I’ve given up my late late nites for early early mornings recently, and one of the reasons is so that I can get up before hubby to make my coffee first. blahblah – skip to this morning – I slept late, he drank his coffee first, and he used up all of the creamer!! I’m verklempt! Lost. Speechless. I can’t believe that he did that, he’s usually much more thoughtful and considerate, since he doesn’t care if he has half-n-half, skim milk, whole milk or whatever white in his coffee. Yet he still used the last of the creamer.

Sooo, I am forced to get real clothes on before noon and go to the grocery store.

See, I knew I could count on you to feel sorry for me.
