Here we go again!

As if last years kitchen & BR teardowns weren’t enough, we’re starting on the LR beginning tomorrow. yikes. A big difference though is that it’s not going to be months and months of dust, drywall and inconvenience like last time. I totally emptied the room today – know I’ll be sore tomorrow ‘cos I was carrying objects much larger than me up & down stairs.

Ever carry a big mirror by yourself? It’s one of those full body, “easel” type mirrors which was more awkward than heavy. But what was weird was seeing myself while I was taking it up the stairs. Especially the look on my face when I got stuck on the railing while I was trying to make the sharp turn around the corner!

So ya. Getting rid of the ugly, ugly paneling that I’ve disliked for the last 20 yrs and the ceiling stuff too. And just like the other redos, it’s a pain, but so worth it after it’s done.

Of course I’ll keep y’all updated.

Mumsy was wondering when she was going to be able to come over and see the new kitchen, now that I’ve done the fun stuff and fixed it up. Well, it pretty much looks the same way it looked when she last saw it… haven’t done a damn thing.

Kind of weird if you ask me. That is the fun stuff, yet I haven’t really gotten into it. I don’t want to put up any of the old decor stuff – blah, old. Plus, I threw most of it out anyway. To tell you the truth, my mind and ideas are as blank as the kitchen is. Same with the bathroom… and the dining room.

If you would have told me a year ago that I wouldn’t have the whole damn thing redecorated by now, I would have declared you insane. I dunno. Not sure what I’m waiting for…

Besides that… I’m bored. Not tired. Certainly don’t feel like working – I saved lives today and it’s the weekend. Sure hope the Badgers and the Packers play better than last weekend.

Did I tell you that Jennie ran the Lakefront Marathon last Sunday? Yes, the same day as the Chicago Marathon – hot – but it went a lot smoother than Chicago did… dang. She did well though. Yay Jennie!

Alrighty, think I’ll eat a bagel and maybe catch up on some DVRd stuff. Have a groovy weekend everyone.

Here we are, another week. I’m warming up to begin my day o’ work. I need to find a better pace to work at. The problem now is getting caught up on client work and get my own household in order.

Yup, the kitchen is very near completion, at least from the construction part of it all. Now comes the fun part… no,  seriously. It is ready to be put back together. Fun, yes, but when the heck am I supposed to fit it in? Hubby is bugging me to get going – I want to get going on it, but I really really need to separate myself from it long enough to work, dagnabbit.

Did I tell you that the kitchen is finally painted? And that I’m not totally thrilled with the outcome? Oh well, it could have been worse, but I can live with it.

ANYway, just wanted to wish y’all a happy new week, and I’ll talk to you later.

Ok, so this post has nothing to do with poop, it’s just how I feel.

I’ve made 2 commitments to myself for today. I must work on worky stuff, and I MUST decide on my paint colors. ya ya, I know, choose one already! Wanna see the kitchen backsplash? Turned out better than I thought since we took the leftover 5″ kitchen tiles and added a little strip of new tiles. But see the color variation? I’m sort of trying to go with a wall color that picks up the gray-ish parts  – contrasty to the warmer, “yellow-ness” of the room… still like the sage-y green colors. Ah well, guess I should get back out there and wave my color chips around.

Like I said… Poopie.

It seems that I’ve become a little behind in all things web related these days. Like what? OOooh, design stuff, new online gadgets and doodads (unless it has to do with remodeling!).

Not that I’d necessarily use it myself, but I thought Scrapblog was kinda cool. I had to play with it anyway, just for kicks. Which brings me to the weird-ish habit that I have…

So many blogs/web sites that I was visiting tonite, and in the recent past, are either advertising or “pay per posting” with the links within their posts. That really bugs me. Not sure why, but it does. SOo, if I’m interested in what they’re talking about (and linking to), I just open a new window and type the url in myself, or paste it in Google, to get to the site. I don’t want the author of the post to get credit for the linkage visit, ya know? Think that’s weird of me? Oh well, it is what it is.

Besides that (hey, you didn’t really think I’d let a post slip by without mention of *The Project* did you?), I uploaded the most recent kitchen pics from the other day. They’re pretty plain because those were the photos that I was painting on with that CBN program dealie. BUT NOTHING is helping me to decide!!!

I’m serious! I have never been so unable to make up my mind about something as I am with this paint color thing. I MUST make a decision within the next 24 hours! It’s almost time to paint the damn walls! ack.

I also just noticed the time, and it’s way past my curfew. tsk tsk. (yes, I’m still going to bed earlier as I promised the hubster I would), so, I must say nitey nite for now.

If you have ANY suggestions or advice whatsoever about paint colors, pleeeese share, k?

I have just discovered the very coolness of a color-by-numbers program. Actually, that’s the name of the thing – CBN. If you’re in the same situation as I am – can’t figure out what the hell colors that you’re going to use to paint your walls – this CBN Selector is the ticket!

The other day Jennie suggested that I Photoshop my pics with a palette of colors. Thing about that is, then what? Sure, I’d have some idea of the way certain colors would look, but CBN actually uses the paint names from your choice of companies… like Behr, Benjamin Moore, Martha, etc. etc., so that if you like a combo, you’ll have all of the names of them.

Very cool. And YESyesyes, the counter, appliances and faucet are all up and functional! Tomorrow going to get the cabinet hardware. I’ll see if I can do a “choose the colors” photo thing, and show you tomorrow, k?
