That would be in fahrenheit folks. Yup, that’s Wisconsin weather. Funny thing, yesterday was the hottest day of the summer. Rosie & I went to pick up the mumster, and all I could think of while the heat enveloped my entire space and the sun totally exposed me, was that I must enjoy every-freakin-UV Ray and drop of sweat because it is going to be snowing before I can say “Gawd I am so hot!” Seriously. And if this season ends the way the last couple of summers have, it’s going to depress me. I L.O.V.E summer.

On another note… I miss having hubby home in the evening. Ok, so this is only the second nite that he’s working, but it is definitely a change. A change in our comfy routine. I think we’ll just be assessing this scenerio through the winter and see what happens by next summer. The good thing is that we have options.

Ok, so is everyone else tuned in for Sarah’s speech? I’m looking forward to it. Onward!

Colin interview in Advanced Photoshop magColin Johnson is a friend and long time client of mine. Advanced Photoshop Magazine recently published an interview with Colin along with a step-by-step presentation of how Colin creates his collage work. You can check out photos of the process on Colin’s flickr page. Dang. I think the worst part for me would be cutting all of the teeny-tiny bits n’ pieces out of wherever he gets them from, ya know? Check it out.

As far as my contest to win the blinds thing? I think the holiday got in the way yesterday. If I don’t get an email notification, I didn’t win – that’s fine. But I want to see who did! So I’m waiting for their site to be updated, and it’s driving me a bit buggy. Oh well. so it goes.

Ok, must kiss hubby bubbyee and watch him ride off to work. First time in over 2 yrs, not to mention first time back at a job he did 30 yrs ago. In fact, he reminded me that the last nite he spent there working, he got a phone call from me to get his ass home ‘cos the baby was coming! Yup, little Jennie was ready to rock n’ roll out the door!

So I’ll c’yall later – don’t forget to check out Colin’s collage process pics.

Law of Averages

Law of Averages. Does that mean that for the last 24 days of me voting once an hour, approximately 12-16 x a day, that I will win that contest? Or is it more like “luck of the draw” or just plain lucky. or not. There’s 4 hrs and 14 min. left which means I get to vote 4 more times. This is to win that contest for the Blinds – the $2,500 in window treatments contest. I’ll let you know what happens, k?

Anyone watch Dexter on Showtime? I just got into it, and wound up watching the entire 2nd season on cable. Kinda weird when you watch so many episodes in a row, but nice because you don’t have to wait to see what happens for another week. Pretty brilliant if you ask me.

Ok, time to get the water boiling. Have a wonderful Labor Day – I heard Jerry lost some poundage. I used to really get into staying up all nite and watching the Marathon… eh, now not so much. bubbyyeeeeeeee.

Badgers too

August 30, 2008 1 Comment

WI Badger FootballCan’t forget that today is the season opener for Badgers Football – yippee! Jennie’s at the game, alma mater and all that. AND, Time Warner finally has the Big 10 Network, which has been a sore spot for awhile now. double yippee.

But, back to the HD party. If one is so inclined, there’s a live feed of the parade right now on our local t.v. station. Of course it’s not the same as being there, and it does get a little monotonous unless you’re at a vantage point where you can see the line of bikes in the distance. We’re waiting until the parade is over & settled in before we go down to the Lakefront. Another beeaUtiful day outside – Bravo!

Before it was as commercialized

August 29, 2008 4 Comments

For the 90th HD reunion, although we specifically went out of our way to avoid the “parade” down to the party grounds, it was UNavoidable getting stuck in a solid mass of Harleys moving at about 5 mph to get down there no matter which way we went.

That was the year when we were at a stand-still and a photographer from In the Wind magazine snapped our photo. Of course that was the year I wore my CFM boots & fishnets. mm-hmm.

Now you have to be invited prior to the event, by mail, by HD, to take part in the Parade. There is a *7,000 bike limit. 7,000. The assemblage begins at 7a.m. tomorrow and the parade starts at 9:00. NO, we are not taking part, thank you very much.

Today is hubby & the boys day for hoo-hah’ing around town. I’m resting up for tomorrow. Besides, need to take Mumsy shopping so she’s not deprived of snacks this weekend.
*if you were here earlier, yes, I said 74,000. If you weren’t, nevermind.

Can I repeat myself ? see below!!
