H.O.G. 25th Anniversary

August 28, 2008 Leave a Comment

H.O.G. Anniversay PartyUn-freakin’ believable. The party today at the Stadium was just for H.O.G. members. This was definitely bigger than the 100th HD Anniversay. And the weather was great – yay. Of course this itty-bitty photo doesn’t really portray the massive volume of bikes that just kept pouring in. I did attempt to take a video of it… wanna see?

Just listen to the roar!

My feet are killin’ me though. I made a big mistake and wore new boots. duh. The rest of the week I’m stickin’ with the tennies!

I’m just sitting here trying to predict the future… keep glancing out my window, “OH, there’s the sun! oh. clouds. OH! SUN… boo. clouds” What the heck. So today is kind of iffy, but the rest of the week & weekend should be beaUtiful. For the bikes of course.

Yes, the HD party has arrived! I’m so excited. Kid Rock is tonite… the list is too long. I’m gonna go now.

Where do you get it from?

August 25, 2008 3 Comments

What inspires you? What gives you motivation to achieve your dreams, your goals? It seems that it just doesn’t come as easily for me as it once did – which is silly, because it’s always within you. I’m discovering that lately I just have to do it, just begin. And that’s the difficult part – just beginning.

The last time that I remember having such conviction and strength to follow through with a dream, it was something that just *clicked* Boom! I was in there. Nothing could keep me from that mission. That’s what I’m looking for. I want a *click* in my brain to get going. But at this rate, that could be awhile.

Very frequently, this fella inspires me with his motivational “thoughts for the day.” I have so many favorites that I’ve bookmarked, but sometimes I just go through his archives… for Discipline, Imagine… you’ll have to find what works for you.

Bicep curlOn a different, but somewhat related note, this site has some really great info – ExRx – Exercise Prescription. But the coolest part of the site is the Exercise & Muscle Directory. There are detailed illustrations of your body muscles which is excellent when you’re not really sure why the heck you’re doing those tricep pulldowns other than someone told you it’s good for that floppage on the back of your arm. It even has little photo animations of each exercise. Very cool.

Umm, one thing though… you have to actually get up and away from the computer screen to do the exercises.

Another print? NO

am I the only one still jazzersizingI would love to buy another one of Joe’s prints. Especially since right now they’re buy one get one kind-o-deal. Except, I only really want 1. There’s something about the little guy in the corner doing a side-bend (or at least appears to be) that appeals to me soooo much. You know, that “awwww” factor. But of course I know that I still have a bunch o’ prints that need framing. I will save my pennies to do so. And that includes the $ that I would have spent on more prints. Just daydreaming, that’s all.

Speaking of daydreaming, omg, this guy has a collection of art that I don’t even have words for. Unbelievable, at least for me.

Happy Sunday!

yes, we have no tomatoes

August 23, 2008 Leave a Comment

Lovely, yummy tomatoesI have a sneaky suspicion that my body is doing one of those “since I got older I just can’t seem to tolerate ____ anymore”, the __blank being tomatoes. Do you realize how devastating that is to me?? I love tomatoes. I eat them like apples. I eat them like popcorn. I’ve had at least one tomato sandwich a day since they’ve started ripening. And through the process of elimination, I do believe they are the culprits of my, umm… GI discomfort. Sucks I tell ya.

Other than that… plans for the weekend? mmm, nope. Not a darn thing. Might stop at a rummage sale on my way to Starbucks this morning. I have been very, very cautious and conservative this summer with the rummaging since we don’t need more junk. Just cleaned all of ours up n’ out, you know, with the house stuff.

Must visit Mumsy and Snickers. Probably tomorrow, s’posed to be nicer out then I can put the top down. Alrighty then, c’yall later. Have a good one.

dark, dark, darker…

August 22, 2008 Leave a Comment

Seems like just yesterday (couldn’t think of anything clever-er) that I was feeling so incredibly mellow, sitting here in the very early summer a.m. – when the sky was that deep-but-bright-saturated-blue. You know, around 4:30-ish? and there’s like 1 bird chirping? Probaby the longest day of summer. Early sunrise and late sunset. Compared to today. 5:15 and it was still dark. I just now noticed there’s no birds chirping? What’s up with that? and it’s 6:45? well that’s weird.

Anyway. Makes me sad. So damn fast and summer is gone. Oh sure, I know that there are plenty of warm days left. But no more early dark blue mornings. But you know what made me quite happy after the sad thoughts? Of course after summer is fall, and then comes winter, and guess who does not have to slosh out in the freezing, 5 feet of snow-blizzard scrape-off-her-car and almost get-in-an-accident-driving-to-work-weather any longer??? *ME* mememememe! yippee. So that helped me to feel better.

FacebookOne more thing. I fell prey to Facebook. Yup, sure did. And it’s all Krishanna’s fault. I really never paid attention to any of those “social networking” dealies, but I gotta tell ya, sure is addicting… at least for me it is. You know how you get in there and see one friend, which leads to 3 more and on and on… had to get out of there.

Ok, gotta go! ah, I hear a couple of birds now, but it really is kind of empty out there…
