Let me preface this post with the fact that I know I’m fortunate to be able to remodel parts of my house… but this is all new to me. I’ve heard the horror stories about the process – the disarray and stress related to it – but what the heck do you do if something isn’t quite right?
The color of the grout in the bathroom is driving me crazy! The shower wall tiles are white. The tile lady recommended a very light gray colored grout for the area. It looks dirty to me. And per my instruction, the tiles are put up in a “brick” layout, as opposed to evenly lined up. That may be fine with a “Chicago subway” tile, but it really looks like poo-poo with 6″ squares. But I can live with that part.
It’s the damn gray grout.
Without “regrouting” and/or tearing everything down (if that’s even possible), I seem to recall something about painting over it? or some way to change the color, I don’t know…
Then, because it’s a small bathroom, the tub is almost too wide to hang the shower curtain and not have it touch the vanity light (the hot vanity light). But then again (thinking out loud here), how long would I have the lights on that the heat would do anything to the curtains? Just looks silly.

Just got through talking to Mumsy on the phone for awhile. What a difference it makes venting to someone else. All of the stuff that I wrote above? Forget most of it – I was using you guys for my sounding board. I hesitate sharing my thoughts on the subject with hubby. He just “wants me to be happy,” and by telling him what I’ve been thinking, he was getting upset. Looking at the bathroom in the fresh daylight, I guess it’s really not that bad.
Geesh, what a merry-go-round!
Ok then, carry on my friends. Have a great weekend!
xoxo
