grrr, I am sooo crabby. Although I should be ok now.

Waay too much activity upon arisal this morning. Downstairs bathroom should be finished today – yay. Very prit-ty. Psycho dog’s meds have kicked in, hubby just left with the big one to get the towel racks, tp holder etc. (yes, I’m trusting him with this assignment), and I just made a fresh pot o’ coffee with my first self-ground beans. Yes, should be ok now.

Even tho I swore I’d never buy a pair of crocs for hospital running around, I couldn’t resist these –

Veggies

Aren’t they cute? Very comfy too, although the first day I wore them, the bottoms of my feet felt the same way they did after wearing fishnet stockings with my cfm boots. There’s little nubbies on the inside bottom of the shoe (I guess it’s supposed to do something beneficial to your feet… hell if I know), but they caused some discomfort after a 12 hr shift this weekend.

ANyway, should probably take advantage of the momentary quiet and get some work done.

Burrrrrrr

Being a frequent flyer at Starbucks has its privileges. I’ve had my eye on a burr grinder for awhile now, but really couldn’t justify spending $125 on one. Their Barista brand went on sale not long ago - the same time that I bought a French Press from them. As it turns out, they remained on sale because they’re not carrying that style any longer. So. Now it’s 49.99. Hmmm… still not sure about spending that, even though now I could justify it since I need 2 different grinds of coffee – coarse for the press, and fine for the brewer.

Burr grinders are best

The point of this post is that one of the Baristas offered to let me use her 30% employee discount, so I got it for $35.00! yay.

How’s the remodeling going you ask? Well, he’s painting the downstairs bathroom (yes, he is – he can do it faster and better than we can. Besides, I hate to paint walls), and the tile should go in tomorrow. I tell ya, I sure miss that 2nd toilet.

Ok, gotta get ready to pick up Mumsy. We’re going shop-ping, yes we are. It’s a good thing to get away from this desk for a change, yes? I think so.
Until later… xoxo

Lookie what I got!

Jim Flora Album Cover - all mine!!

I’m so excited… the album cover is the highly coveted artwork of the late, great, Jim Flora. My fav one as a matter of fact. And you know what’s really weird? About a month or so ago, I received an email from Irwin Chusid, who is the author of Flora’s groovy books and maintains/preserves Flora’s web site, wondering if I would like to do an interview with him, since I obviously admired Flora by putting him numero uno on my link list. And now this! yay! Must add this to my “need to get framed” list (btw, I was going to the frame shop this week, but it’s been raining and I don’t want to get the artwork wet – honest).

ANyway – that’s my excitement for the day (yes, stay tuned for that interview!). Now I must tend to my spag noodles. Which reminds me – did I ever tell you that my mom used to throw spaghetti noodles at the wall, and if they stuck, they were done cooking? Weird, huh.

c’yall later

Oh NO! There’s blood in my caffiene stream!
ha, that cracks me up. For some reason I was flippin’ around in my old blogger entries, and came across that line from Ron at PinkPig. Yup, 7 years ago, holymoly. Time flies.

I don’t feel like doing a damn thing tonite. What the heck. I taped a slew of shows since Tuesdays are my class nite, so I think I’ll just kick my feet up and veg… ok, maybe click around here n’ there a bit, just enough so the screensaver doesn’t come on.

My boob itches. ‘scuse me. Which reminds me, I can always tell when it’s time for a new bra when I bend over, like to play with the dogs or something, and a boobie falls out. Well, ’tis true. I suppose… it’s one of those necessary things that I hate buying and so I wait until the last minute, ya know?

hohum. I was going to tell you something else, now I forgot. Those darn tangents of mine…
Oh well. If I remember it later I’ll come back, k?

any which way

Rosie is one of the loosest dogs I have ever known. Wherever and however she lands in a spot, her legs pretty much go in any direction… and frequently not very *lady-like* either. Of course my photography abilities never seem to catch the moment as it appears, but tonite she was just chillin’ and sittin on the couch – just looked so damned cute.

Take a look. But, like I mentioned, something is just lost in a freeze frame, ya know?

Know what else? I’ve been to etsy a few times here n’ there, visited Lori’s page, looked around at mostly jewelry things. Tonite I got hung up on shops with their prints and original artwork – oh dear! I couldn’t tear myself away from there! “One more page, just one more than I’ll stop…” I wound up buying 2 little prints from Ashley… they’re just so cute to me, had to have them. Besides, I needed a litle variance in the size of my artwork around here, and yes, I’m still in the process of framing my current print collection – really.

These are the two that I purchased… awwww…

Ashley Goldberg art

I’d better go to bed early tonite I think. Now that the downstairs bathroom is still in mid-transformation (no toilet), hubby came up to pee last nite and caught me reclined & snoring at the desk – whoopsie. 4 a.m., tsk tsk. ‘sokay, I’m pretty sleepy and had a longish day. Wouldn’t hurt me to get more than 4-5 hrs sleep once in awhile, yes?

Okee doke,  later kids.

Every time I read the newest issue of HOW, I get mixed feelings… inspired, envious, wishful, motivated, and sometimes bummed out.

When I get bummed out, it’s usually because there’s soooo much that I wish that I could do. Not wishful that I had the ability to do *it* necessarily, but that I would take the time to learn something new. Pursue my knowledge, just take the time to do so. Places to go and things to learn – all things Adobe… Photoshop TV, NAPP (I keep my membership, but I certainly could take better advantage of all of the great info), and Layers Magazine, although I have explored the Photoshop CS3 Beta release – all I can say is wow. I want to be able to move around Illustrator as I do in Photoshop. While I do read many of the tutorials, it’s just not the same as having someone teach me in person, ya know? I know, I know, take a class or something… but that’s my point – I never follow through! It’s always a great idea in my head, but when it comes down to actually going & DOing, I don’t.

Anyway, I know I could if I really wanted to, I just wish I would get off my butt and do it!

Did I ever tell you that Jennie always says that I’m the ideal consumer? The marketers dream? Just another example of this fact, still going through HOW magazine, and read about these Andy Warhol watches – ooo! gotta have one! or House Industries Girard Alphabet Blocks – OH, they would look so cool in here on my book shelf, and I could rearrange them n’ stuff… what the hell? I don’t even care for Warhol that much, and like I have an extra $100 for a set of building blocks. geesh.

But the coolest thing that I read tonite, was a little snippet about Mahar Drygoods, a site established by Robert Mahar and that sells a whole bunch of unique kid’s stuff… but the most exciting thing to me as I read about it, besides being already familiar with the site, is that Aeolidia was mentioned as the creator of the web site, and Jen Corace the illustrator. Why is that you ask? I love love love Aeolidia. Arianne is my hero when it comes to customizing shopping carts for her clients. Man-o-man, she rocks!

So. That’s the poop this evening. OH, I should show you a pic of psycho dog that I snapped today.

 Lucy Girl

Don’t let the innocent look fool you!
I’ll also be updating the baby’s page a little later – she’ll be 8 mths old tomorrow. wowsa.

Alrighty everyone, have a great MondayMonday, k?
