necessary

Finally bit the bullet and ordered CS2. Now it’s just a matter of whether I’ll be able to refrain from installing it on this pc, or just wait to install it on the new one… decisions decisions. Upgraded to a 9×12 Intuos 3 Wacom tablet too. I’m very excited about that! Like I’ve said before, when I buy these tools, it’s with the hope of actually drawing again. Oh sure, I know that it’s still not with pen and paper, but it’s a step in the right direction.

Rosiebaby had her first puppy class today. She was the star pupil, or so her daddy-o said. She is growing so incredibly fast, I can’t believe it.

Ok, break’s over. I’m supposed to finish a project tonite yet, but needed to look away for a minute, know what I mean? sooo, c’yall later.

IE 7?

November 6, 2006 3 Comments

Is it inevitable that I’ll have to download IE 7? Is it weird? (other than the standard “ewww” stuff). Yes, I use Firefox half of the time, and Thunderbird all of the time – but still IE also… just wondering.

Hey, look at the mumster with her grandbabies.

Ok, MondayMonday. I love Mondays.

studio pics

October 29, 2006 4 Comments

Awhile back, Lori posted some links to photos of artist’s studios. I love looking at them. I happened to stumble across a blog that features the desktops (although there are many who have pics of their entire creative space) from a variety of artists.

Neato, huh?

Ok, back to the new pc debate. Well, not quite a debate any longer, but in relation to… I’m finally going to bite the bullet and upgrade to Adobe’s CS2 package. I guess if one were to break it down for each program included, it wouldn’t sound like as much $$, but it still seems like so much just for an upgrade. poo.

Well, think I’ll go to bed. Much to my chagrin, I’m going to have to go to a walk-in clinic tomorrow for my eyeball. It’s been bugging me for a couple of weeks-ish, and now it’s all swollen and blobby. Pain in the ass, but I’ve put it off for too long.

Nitey nite kiddies.

ok, chuck the mac

October 28, 2006 1 Comment

Ok, guess it was just a passing fancy – the buying a mac thing. Ya, I don’t know where else I would get a new system other than Dell. The part that we could only purchase through Dell was an AC power cord (puppy chewed it!). So hubby had to wait for it – and we know how frustrating it can be without our pcs! He wasn’t totally lost ‘cos he had mine to check his email on, but you know…

Sooo, he was pissed about that. And I have to admit that the support I received when I ordered it was great… maybe it because it was from a business account phone call?

Anyway – just spent some time looking through Tiget Direct (thanks Lisa). I guess there are other places to buy a system, hmm?

Heyheyhey… what the hell is going on with the Badgers right now?! Stocco? Got your mind somewhere else today?

Ok then… oh! My new baby book is online (sorry Jennie – OH, but I have a portfolio of hers to show you guys too – have to upload it. later)… anyway, H-e-r-e-sssssss Rosie!

Have a great weekend all.

*update* Here’s Jennie’s folio that she sent to a few galleries around town. Some of her paintings are going to be up in a design house here… groovy. (.pdf file)

mac mac baby

October 23, 2006 7 Comments

This may be old news to some of you, since the first beta was announced in April, BUT, I am ecstatic! I think I may just buy a mac. If I’m able to run all of my Windows software on a mac (with a Windows XP install and partition), well hellsbells, why not?? And from all that I’ve read about it, sounds like it’s a winner.

Heaven only knows that I’ve just about had it with Dell. There is no way in hell that hubby would permit another Dell PC in this house. Oh sure, I’ve had pretty good luck with the 4 Dells that I’ve had (with Mumsy’s machines included), but they’re getting more difficult to tolerate – mainly because of their proprietory hardware and their tech support.

I really do want to join the devoted mac club… I want to see what all the hoopla is about. Besides, how could the new iMac design with a 24″ display be anything less than perfect? And you know what? Last nite I put a dream machine on my  “wish list” over on the Apple site, and guess who just called me to see if they could offer me any assistance or answer any questions about the system? Yup, Apple. Like Dell has ever, or would ever, do such a thing. Right.

Hubby just told me not to put it off – go for it! We’re going to give my step-son this current pc for Christmas.

Aren’t you excited for me? Just had to share.
:)
