bye.

ok, so I’m silly. Actually, I do feel pretty giddy. I started the Chantix 3 days ago, and whether it’s just timing on my part, everything is going well. By everything, I mean my ‘eating better’ mode. Last week I also decided to get serious about watching what I eat again. Seems like lately – last 4-6 mths actually – I have been addicted to grainy bread and sweets. No, still don’t buy junk food, but it’s EVerywhere at the hospital!

You know how that is – people bring in donuts, candy, cookies… junkjunkjunk! Of course, my co-workers all tie me down and force feed me.

But besides that, I see my future without ciggies – soon. Go me! (Lisa, I have my “quit meter” ready to go up again!)

Hey, did anyone else cry at the end of “Desperate Housewives?” Poor little possum.

All of a sudden I don’t feel like talking anymore.
Nice to see y’all.
xoxo

But you already knew that, yes? Brett – Brett Favre. Isn’t he the greatest?

Actually, the main reason that I’m popping in is to share a really simple, but extremely useful little program. You may even know about it already, but I just found it.

If you’re anything like me and collect PS brushes, this opensource Brush Viewer is wonderful. How often are you working in PS and go to load some new brushes and can’t exactly remember which is which? or which one was that really cool brush with the swirly dealies… Anyway, the ABR Viewer can display any of the brushes – just open it up and browse your brushes. Of course, you still have to remember after you see them, but I spent a bit of time and organized my brush folders, so that helps. woowee. Excitement abounds!

And that’s about it for me… re-opened my little Cafe Press store. Mainly because I want to buy myself something – ha! That’s about the only thing it’s good for, ya know? And personalized Christmas gifts. But it’s fun. Gave me something non-work related to do for a change.

Okee doke, have a groovy week guys.

Mumsy was wondering when she was going to be able to come over and see the new kitchen, now that I’ve done the fun stuff and fixed it up. Well, it pretty much looks the same way it looked when she last saw it… haven’t done a damn thing.

Kind of weird if you ask me. That is the fun stuff, yet I haven’t really gotten into it. I don’t want to put up any of the old decor stuff – blah, old. Plus, I threw most of it out anyway. To tell you the truth, my mind and ideas are as blank as the kitchen is. Same with the bathroom… and the dining room.

If you would have told me a year ago that I wouldn’t have the whole damn thing redecorated by now, I would have declared you insane. I dunno. Not sure what I’m waiting for…

Besides that… I’m bored. Not tired. Certainly don’t feel like working – I saved lives today and it’s the weekend. Sure hope the Badgers and the Packers play better than last weekend.

Did I tell you that Jennie ran the Lakefront Marathon last Sunday? Yes, the same day as the Chicago Marathon – hot – but it went a lot smoother than Chicago did… dang. She did well though. Yay Jennie!

Alrighty, think I’ll eat a bagel and maybe catch up on some DVRd stuff. Have a groovy weekend everyone.

Couple of things I pondered tonite… one was how I don’t really browse illustration sites anymore. Well, not as frequently as I used to. Poor Artbeatstreet… little ghost town/site. I suppose the interviews are still cool, although I’m sure there’s probably a few dead linkolas.

The other thing that I was remembering, was when FMG was in its prime, what a big deal it was when “someone used my graphics illegally” – ooooo, I used to get so perturbed, and all of my faithful visitors used to send scathing emails to the guilty party who was “stealing my bandwidth!” Heck, Moosie even called me from Alaska to console me when someone copied my entire site into theirs.

For some reason, I wound up on Copyscape tonite, and hence, was reminded of the above. Yes, there were a couple of web businesses that copied my ‘info page’ from Ink2Art… pretty much word-for-word. geesh. Annoying? yes. Am I worried about it? no. Dorks.

Anyway… I was going to tell you something else, can’t remember what it was now.

Vince is doing well. He moved to the VA Hospital for insurance reasons, so I won’t get to see him as often. But he’ll be ok. Just kind of bummed out now… all of the other life stuff that’s going on around him, in spite of his accident, that he can’t tend to right now. ya know?

OH, know what else? My hospital is finally going totally smoke-free. The only one in town that hasn’t yet. November 16th. That’s it baby. I’m rather looking forward to it, in a twisted kind of way. It will give me the impetus I need to just do it. Having boundaries and restrictions is actually a good thing for me. But I am definitely going the Chantix route. I’ve heard nothing but positive things about it…

Funny – as I’m talking about this smoking thing, I can’t help but remember last time I quit and how I inspired Lisa. Still smoke-free Lisa? I read an entry when you were feeling a little weak. Isn’t it amazing that after how long, people sometimes start smoking again. Can’t have that 1st one, or it’s a done deal. At least for me it is/was.

I s’pose. Better get to bed. Hubby still has a minor fit when I come to bed late. Tonite, after one of his smart ass remarks about putting a bed in my office so I don’t ever have to leave the room, I asked him if after I turn 21, will I get to stay up later?? geesh, what the hell’s the difference?

Oh well, such is life. C’yall next time.

I went to see Vince today – he coughed his own breathing tube out, and everything is cool. He’s talking, although a little groggy, and making sense too! Said that “they were trying to kill me… had a hose down my throat!”

ahhh, thank goodness. Yes, he’ll have to rehab it I’m sure, but should be ok. That was really scarey. geeez. I’m so thankful. I can’t even imagine what so many others have gone through that haven’t been so fortunate.

And now hubby is trying out our new whirlpool tub. That is, after he almost threw the shower curtain and rod out the window. It’s one of those tension rods, you know what I’m talking about… and it apparently came down on him. He couldn’t get it back into position and was having a fit… standing there all nekid and swearing and swingin’ in the breeze. But he finally got it. Now it sounds like there’s a jet engine in there… hope it helps him (bad owie knee).

Ok, just wanted to share the good news about Vinnie.
Life is good.

What should I ask qualified healthcare practitioner about generic medications

Update

Vince (from below) is coming around! He’s following commands, opening his eyes, and we’ll be working on getting that breathing tube out and getting him off of the vent – which shouldn’t be a problem at all. yay.

After that, it will just be a matter of whether he makes a lot of sense when he’s able to talk (without the breathing tube in his throat). But it’s all great news!
